Landscaping and grounds for a commercial property

Landscaping and grounds from Continental.

Well-kept grounds tell tenants and visitors that a property is managed with care. Overgrown shrubs and ragged edges say the opposite.

Continental handles routine grounds maintenance: lawn mowing and edging, bush and shrub trimming, bed upkeep and landscape debris cleanup, on a schedule built for your property.

With landscaping in the same program as cleaning and exterior services, your whole property looks consistent from the street to the suite.

What routine grounds visits include

Each visit covers the basics that keep grounds sharp. Lawns are mowed and edged along walks and curbs. Shrubs and hedges are trimmed to hold their shape and keep sight lines open at entries and drive aisles. Beds are tidied and kept clear of debris. Landscape debris, from clippings to fallen branches, is cleared before the crew leaves the property.

Clear sight lines are a practical point, not only a cosmetic one. Overgrown shrubs at a business park entrance or along an apartment walkway hide signage and make paths feel closed in. Regular trimming keeps signs readable and walkways open, which tenants and residents notice even if they never mention it.

Grounds across different property types

Large business parks in Pleasanton or San Ramon use landscaped courtyards and frontage to tie many buildings together, so one standard across the campus matters more than any single bed. Apartment communities need grounds that support leasing, especially along the drive in and around the clubhouse. Retail centers need tidy planters and islands that frame storefronts without hiding them.

Seasonal timing shapes the plan. Spring and early summer growth calls for closer mowing and trimming intervals, while autumn shifts the work toward leaf and debris cleanup. Grounds work also connects to the rest of the exterior: sweeping collects what blows from the beds into the lot, and pressure washing clears stains from the walkways that border them.

What goes into the price of grounds maintenance

Routine grounds care is normally priced as a monthly fee for a set number of visits, built from the crew hours each visit takes. The main inputs are turf area, the number and size of shrub beds and hedges, how much edging runs along walks and curbs, and how often the crew comes: weekly through the growing season and less often in winter, or on one schedule all year.

Property layout adds to the hours. Slopes, narrow planting strips between buildings, courtyards reached only through a lobby and podium-level planters on urban buildings slow a crew down compared with the open lawns of a Pleasanton or Livermore business park. Green waste removal, leaf drop and how tightly hedges are kept also count. After walking the grounds, we set the visit schedule and its price in a written quote.
