School and daycare cleaning from Continental.
Few buildings work harder than a school. Hundreds of small hands touch the same doors, faucets and tables every day, lunch spills across the multipurpose room, and playground sand finds its way into every hallway. Continental cleans once the last student has been picked up, so teachers return to ready classrooms and families walk into a building that looks cared for. Every crew member who enters a school or child care center is background-checked, and supervisors inspect the work.
The program fits private and charter schools, preschools, child care centers, tutoring centers and after-school programs, whether they sit in a purpose-built campus, a church education wing or a converted office suite.
Every room in the building
Classrooms get desks, tables, chairs and counters wiped, whiteboard ledges dusted, bins emptied and floors vacuumed or mopped. Cubbies, coat hooks and low shelving are wiped at the heights children use. Teacher displays and student work stay exactly where staff left them.
Restrooms take the most care, including the small fixtures in kindergarten and toddler rooms, with every dispenser refilled before morning. Kitchens and lunch areas get counters, sinks, tables and floors, and front offices, staff lounges and nurse’s offices are cleaned like any professional workplace.
In infant and toddler rooms, cribs, changing tables and nap mats are wiped to the routine your center sets, using the products you approve. Toys are cleaned and returned to the bins where staff keep them.
Built around the school year
The academic calendar sets the rhythm. Nightly visits handle everyday wear during the term, and breaks open the building for heavier work: carpet extraction, hard floor refinishing through floor care, high dusting in gyms and libraries and detail cleaning of windows and partitions.
Summer is the biggest window. Whole wings can be cleared, floors stripped and refinished and furniture returned before teachers set up their rooms in August. Year-round child care centers often use long weekends and the week between winter holidays for the same projects.
Back-to-school nights, performances and weekend fairs bring extra visitors. A cleanup visit booked right after the event puts the building back in order before Monday’s first bell.
Schools and centers across our area
Private schools, preschools and child care centers each get a program built around their own calendar and rooms.
Many early learning centers lease space in office parks and retail centers, and many private schools share campuses with churches. Because Continental also cleans business parks and retail centers, adding a school or center to a property’s plan is simple for the owner and the operator alike.
High-touch surfaces and shared spaces
Door handles, sink taps, light switches, shared art tables and play equipment see constant contact. Each visit cleans those surfaces first and then follows your school’s chosen disinfection routine. Our disinfection and sanitizing service adds extra touchpoint rounds during the busiest weeks, such as the return from winter break.
Daytime support is available too. A day porter can refresh restrooms after lunch, handle spills in the cafeteria and keep the front entrance tidy for afternoon pickup, while the full clean still happens after dismissal.
School and daycare cleaning costs
Schools and child care centers are priced per square foot each month, usually at or a little below office rates. Across our area, five-night programs typically run $0.11 to $0.22 a square foot as of 2026, from Nevada and Central Valley campuses at the low end to Peninsula and South Bay buildings at the top. Large campuses with long corridors start near $0.08, and small centers with nurseries and many restrooms climb toward $0.30.
For example, a 16,000-square-foot private elementary school in San Jose with ten classrooms, a multipurpose room and six restrooms, cleaned five nights a week at $0.18, comes to $2,880 a month. Break-time projects such as floor refinishing and carpet extraction are priced as separate lines.
Restroom count, infant and toddler rooms, the share of carpet versus hard floor, after-hours events and how much summer project work you plan all shape the final figure, and a walkthrough sets it in writing.
A few useful answers
Common questions.
What time does the crew arrive at a preschool or child care center?
After the last child has gone home and staff have closed the rooms. The visit finishes well before morning drop-off, so floors are dry when doors open.
Can summer projects be scheduled around teacher setup week?
Yes. We set the floor and carpet work early in the break so finishes cure and furniture is back in place before staff return to prepare their rooms.
Do you clean toys and nap mats?
Yes, on the routine your center sets. Toys and mats are cleaned with the products you approve and returned to the places staff keep them.
Can a porter cover the school day as well as the evening clean?
Yes. A day porter handles restrooms after lunch, cafeteria spills and the entrance at pickup, while the nightly crew completes the full clean.
Is a school inside a church or office park cleaned on the same program as the building?
It can be. When the owner and the school settle the plan together, both share one schedule and one service manager, with each area listed in the quote.
